End of Year Celebration!

Kia ora everyone!

Wellington is proud to be hosting the Aotearoa Rainbow Inter-Club Tournament this August. This will be a doubles tournament, with a double-elimination format and graded A, B, and C. The format and grading is similar to the Trans-Tasman tournament.
We will be battling it out during the day with our whanau from Auckland and Christchurch. This will be followed by an awards ceremony and then a night on the town!

If you would be intertested in a drinks/dinner event afterwards, please let us know on the registration form as well!

Trans-Tasman Tournament 2024

The annual Trans-Tasman Tournament will be in Melbourne this year, hosted by our sister club – The Melbourne Smashers! The tournament will be on Saturday 2nd of November, with a party afterwards to celebrate the winners of the competition as well as the Smashers’ 10 year anniversary! Rainbow Games 2024 – Tฤmaki Makaurau Auckland

The Rainbow Games 2024 (5-11 April 2024) thrives on the values of Turangawaewae (place and belonging), Manamotuhake (self-determination), Hauroa (enhancing wellness), and Manaakitanga (supported approach), welcoming rainbow people and allies from near and far. We are thrilled to announce that registrations for the highly anticipated Rainbow Games 2024 are now open.
Badminton (6-8 April 2024) is taking place at The Trusts Arena and is one of 14 sports among the kaleidoscope of sports and activities at the inaugural Rainbow Games 2024. The multisport Games promises a dazzling extravaganza that will leave participants exhilarated and inspired. With social and competitive divisions available across Open and female-identifying disciplines, there truly is something for everyone. For badminton, that means the A, B, C and D grading will apply across the following disciplines:
- Open Singles
- Female-identifying Doubles
- Open Doubles
- Female-identifying Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
Open refers to all genders and identities. Female-identifying refers to cisgender, transgender, and non-binary AFAB.
The rainbow shines its light on all participants, regardless of their own colourful expressions and identities. Participants do not have to identify as LGBTQI+ to join in the fun and excitement. And here’s a delightful surprise to brighten your day: the limited-time Early Bird offer is now live.

The Rainbow Games 2024 is more than just a sporting competition โ it’s a chance to make new connections, challenge yourself, celebrate inclusion in sports and make memories for a lifetime.
Please note:
- Feather shuttlecocks will be used.
- The tournament format will be decided once final entry numbers are confirmed. Please indicate your classification accurately so that we can guarantee a fair tournament that correctly reflects everyoneโs skill level.
- In the event of insufficient registrations for any given competition, we reserve the right to merge competitions or to move participants to another competition. We will inform you through email should this be the case.
- If you want to participate in the doubles, but donโt have a partner, please write partner required when prompted once full registrations open. Otherwise, please ensure you confirm your partner during the registration stage.
- Participants must be 18+ by Friday 5 April 2024 to take part. Find out more in our terms and conditions. More information will be available soon.
